Small Business Genius

Uncertain Economic Times affect virtually everyone in the work place by just the word "Uncertainty". This is manifested by either being discharged, or fired, or by the expectation of being discharged. The purpose of this website is to help quell your fears and assist you in the pursuit of financial freedom. My experience in all aspects of starting a small business and then taking it to supporting my family spans across 20 years and seven successful and two not so successful small businesses. Unfortunately I have experience in failure.

  • Janitorial
  • Lawncare
  • Contractor
  • Micro Brew
  • Restuarant
  • Carpet Cleaning
  • Window Washing
  • Web Page Design
  • Construction -  Remodeling

Failure is an essential tool in creating a successful business only if you learn something from it and I did. The two that failed were the “Restaurant and Micro Brew” and they failed because of two reasons: (1) Under Capitalized and no Marketing/Business Plan. Ergo, the reason why I went back to college, at the age of 45, was to pursue a marketing degree.

This website will be your complete resource for all the necessary information needed to accomplish your goal so I suggest you bookmark, add to favorites, or just write down the address so you can continue to use it. It will help you with any facet of business operations including how to have a WEBSITE that works and is not a hole you throw money in, Also you can contact me with a question on the contact page.

The businesses above are just a small number of ones that can be started while working for your employer or while collecting unemployment. You can also start several at the same time that do not require a large amount of money. This is exactly what I did when working for the post office from 1987 to 1990. During this time I created a janitorial business, lawn care business, and a remodeling business all at the same time. This was easy since I work the grave yard shift for two years and then the evening shift until I left completely. Each of these businesses are list and explained on the Small Businesses Page titled “Under $1000”.
